Currently recruiting for.......Environmental Support Officer
August 2011
Planet Footprint is an environmental scorekeeping firm that provides a unique reporting and benchmarking service to over 200 organisations worldwide. The company is headquartered in the Illawarra, and comprises a small but highly motivated team of environmental professionals.
We require an energetic person to join our team as a Support Officer. You will help our customers primarily in the local government and state government sectors to interpret and apply our environmental scorekeeping service. Planet Footprint is growing fast so this is an excellent opportunity for the ambitious.
The role is a challenging one, and requires enormous energy, flexibility and flair to engage successfully with demanding people in large organisations. Although we have built excellent systems that work for hundreds of organisations, our clients often have complex requirements for how they should be using our service. They will rely on your expertise to guide them in how to effectively apply Planet Footprint's services to achieve environmental and financial savings. You would need excellent time management and organisational skills, as you will be providing support to over 100 organisations, all of whom need regular and meaningful interaction with you.
As part of your role, you will be required to research and maintain understanding of the latest regulations, trends and developments in the energy, climate change and sustainability fields, as they relate to environmental scorekeeping. You will also be required to contribute to and/or coordinate the adjustment of Planet Footprint services and tools to maintain alignment with these, and to ensure the company capitalises on any opportunity that may be presented via these wider ‘landscape changes’.
The role reports directly to the Managing Director. You would be based at our headquarters in Gerringong, working side by side with other Support staff and management. You would be working closely with our Support Analyst, as well as our Operations Team and our U.S. office.
Occasional travel Australia-wide is required for this role. The amount of travel depends on what you think is required to achieve your outcomes, but as an indication would be 5 overnight or two-night trips per year.
Salary: $55,000 pa.
